7th Grade:

Tuesday:  Check WS 131/132.  HW;  133/134  do ALL as FRACTIONS
Wednesday:  Check WS 133/134.  HW   WS 135-136, omit 8-12 pg 135
Thursday:  Check WS 135/136.  Quiz
Friday:  WOW and Friday facts

8th Grade:
This week is a bit hard to predict because pacing depends a lot on the students.  Monday-Tuesday or Wedneday we will be doing problem solving.  Expect a test over problem solving Tuesday or Wednesday.
The day after our test, we will begin our first and longest Pre-Algebra units.  Each student will be given a textbook for their use.  They will have assignments, but I am not going to post it due to lack of knowing where we will be for the week.

Algebra:
Monday:  Check pg 13. HW:  pg 18 16-44/4, 53-56,60
Tuesday: Check pg pg.  HW:  pg 23 12-48/4,33,41,46--check on Thursday
Wednesday:  CRISS lesson.  Kids will prepare and teach a concept to the rest of the class.
Thursday:  Check pg 23.  HW:  pg 29 18,24-33,38-42,48,49,52
Friday:  Check pg 29.  Quiz.

Grades and JMC

For 7th and 8th grade GENERAL math, please remember that I use a 12 point scale in the JMC grading system and the percents you see are not accurate.   In fact, the only thing you should really pay attention to is the grade.  If they got 12, that is an A+, 11=A, 10=A-, and on down the line with a 0=F.   X=they did not have to do the assignment and no score means that it is due, but your child has not turned in in for some reason.  Some of you might not be happy with the MM scores.  Please know that the students have the OPTION to redo those problems missed for a slightly higher grade if they originally got a D or F (2 or 0 in JMC) for a grade. They have one week to complete this or it is then too late.

Grades for Algebra students are strickly by points and percents earned using the grading scale as published in the handbook.  Low grades this early in the year as due to lower MM scores.  Practicing basic computation at home may help increase this score if that is a goal.

Week of August 23rd

7th Math:
Monday & Tues:  Problem solving problem, done in class.
Wednesday:   Begin percents.  WS in class.
Thursday:  WS 129-130 due Monday
Friday:  Friday Facts, WOW

8th Math:
Monday-Friday:  No outside of class homework.  Work on problem solving.

Algebra:
Monday:  MM.  Check assig.  WS 10-15 due.
Tuesday:  Check assign.  Practice for test on Wed.
Wednesday: TEST over integer operations
Thursday:  Due Friday:  pg 8 4-52/4
Friday:  Check assign. Due Monday:  Pg 13  16-60/4,43, 53
